T-Ball & Coach Pitch
Recreational Baseball
- The LBL’s Recreational League emphasizes baseball development for players to get the opportunity over a 8 game season to improve their skills week to week.
- Recreational teams are constructed by the LBL and are led by volunteer coaches who are trained to stress and facilitate player development over the season.
- Head coaches are screened and trained to ensure a safe and developmental, baseball experience.
- The Recreational League is dependent upon volunteer coaches to lead teams and community sponsors assist with keeping registration fees affordable and supporting the scholarship program.

Ages
T-Ball: 4- 6 years old
Coach Pitch 7U: 5, 6, 7 years old
Coach Pitch 8U: 6,7,8 years old
When
Program runs: May 4th - July 10th
Where
Practices and home games are held on City of Longmont Fields. T-ball and coach pitch games are held at:
- Affolter Park
- Pratt Park
- Lanyon Park
- Carr Park.
There may be possible games in Lyons or Estes Park.
Practices
Practices are held 1-2 times a week. Starting at 4pm and ending at 8pm.
- T-ball: 1 hour/session
- 7U: 1 to 1.5 hours/session
- 8U: 1. 5 hours/session
Coaches have the flexibility to pick dates, times when fields are available to them and that work for there schedules.
Games
- Teams will play 8 games
- No tournament for these age groups
Uniform
Each player is provided a uniform package:
- LBL snap back hat
- LBL Shirt
Parents provide:
- Pants
- Belt
- Socks
- Cleats
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between coach pitch 7U and coach pitch 8U?
- 7U is a hybrid between t-ball and coach pitch. They start with the coach pitching to them. If they fail to make contact they get to hit off the tee. 7U is structured to advance there skills from t-ball and build confidence toward playing 8U.
- 8U players only get to hit a thrown ball from the coach. No tee if they miss. They may also strike out. 8U is structured to begin advancing their skills towards 9U kid pitch.
